Before transforming the landscape of English football, Jeff spent 22 successful years in financial services, specialising in work with the Armed Forces. This foundation of discipline and strategy paved the way for his most defining moment. Having funded AFC Bournemouth from October 2006, Jeff faced a pivotal crisis in 2009 when Gerald Krasner requested an additional £100,000 during a live broadcast. Jeff’s response, now legendary as the "Famous Nod" saved the club from extinction. That act of courage ignited a historic ascent from the brink of collapse to the heights of the Premier League.
Jeff has held numerous key positions within the FA Council, where his current work with the FA Disability Committee reflects a lifelong commitment to inclusivity and diversity in football. In recognition of his leadership, Jeff was awarded a Fellowship of the FA Council in 2021 and holds an Honorary Doctorate in Business Administration from Bournemouth University.
Beyond the pitch, Jeff is a dedicated philanthropist. He proudly serves as a Patron for the Dorset Cancer Care Foundation and acts as an Ambassador for both Julia’s House Children’s Hospice and Lewis-Manning Hospice Care.
